Hotel Hold

This photograph is created specifically for the exhibition space Ekkisens in Reykjavík. It is the result of a conversation or experience of the vicinity of the gallery space characterized by early 20th century wood houses. The pink neon sign of Hotel Holt, a nearby hotel and an intrusive element in the old neighborhood, has been transformed into Hotel Hold using Photoshop. This creates a play on words (Hold in Icelandic means Flesh) contains a Memento Mori as well as a love for the body.
